Anthropic October IPO Odds Collapse After November Report
This one moved fast.
Earlier this week, prediction markets were still giving Anthropic roughly a 51% chance of listing in October.
Now?
About 5%.
November has become the clear favorite at roughly 67%.
The move followed new reporting from the Wall Street Journal that Anthropic has shifted its planned IPO into November.
That's exactly the kind of information prediction markets are supposed to absorb.
And in this case, they did.
From October favorite to long shot
The October listing had remained the market's leading outcome despite signs that Anthropic's IPO timetable was getting tighter.
Earlier reporting had already pushed the formal roadshow toward mid-October.
But traders still saw enough time for the company to complete the process before the end of the month.
That changed overnight.
The latest reporting explicitly moved the expected listing into November.
The market response was immediate.
October: ~51% → ~5%
November: → ~67%
A separate contract asking whether Anthropic will list by October 31 has also fallen to only a few percent.
No ProbGap forecast here
This is important.
When the new information arrived, there may briefly have been a large gap between the reporting and the market price.
That gap is now gone.
We're not going to manufacture an edge after the market has already repriced.
That's part of the discipline.
Sometimes the interesting story isn't that the market is wrong.
It's how quickly it becomes less wrong when genuinely new information arrives.
For now, November is clearly the market's base case.
We'll keep watching for the next divergence.
